CITAH+ provides support at no cost
The European Digital Innovation Hub CITAH+ supports small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and public institutions – free of charge for SMEs and at a symbolic fixed rate for public bodies. We help organizations understand digital technologies and apply them to improve processes, products, and services.
Our offering includes consulting, data analysis, studies, pilot development (“Test before Invest”), as well as workshops, training, and lab visits.
We specialize in healthcare and the agri-food sector, with roots in the Weser-Ems region, but we gladly collaborate across industries and regions to use synergies.
Consulting and Implementation
Cross-sector services
Project initiation and development
As part of initial orientation meetings (typically lasting a few hours), we identify individual approaches to improve digital products, processes, and services in your company. Based on this, further services of the innovation center can be agreed upon.
Key facts:
- Target group: SMEs and mid-caps, across all sectors
- Cost for SMEs and mid-caps: none
Assessment of the individual digital transformation potential
As part of a more in-depth on-site analysis at your company, we assess your level of digital maturity and jointly identify opportunities to improve processes or products through digital transformation, particularly in the field of artificial intelligence. You will receive recommendations for changes that can be implemented either together with the innovation center or independently.

Consulting on access to funding
This service includes a detailed analysis of project requirements and business objectives with regard to the continuation and implementation of a digitalization or AI project for SMEs, mid-cap companies, or public service providers. Preparation of user studies
Pilot projects for testing new technologies, particularly in the healthcare sector, often involve studies with test participants (volunteers) and the processing of personal data. These typically require a study design, a data protection concept, participant consent, and approval by the relevant ethics committee. Within this service, we support you in preparing a study, including all necessary documents and approvals. The study itself is usually carried out as a separate service under “Pilot testing of use cases” (see below).

- Cost for SMEs and mid-caps: none
- This service is subject to EU state aid low
Pilot testing of use cases
This service includes the implementation of pilot projects, user studies, and feasibility studies, particularly for AI applications. The laboratory environments available at CITAH+ partners enable validation and demonstration of AI applications in real-world scenarios. Based on a use case defined jointly with you, our team develops a precise definition of the desired outcome. This may involve a “vertical deep dive,” in which all aspects of an application are prototypically implemented, or a feasibility analysis focusing on critical aspects such as viability, risks, and requirements. Both established and state-of-the-art technologies are considered. The result clarifies realistic application possibilities for the tested technology within your company.

Services for public health institutions
Identification of suitable healthcare indicators for public presentation
The COVID-19 pandemic has shown public health services the importance of presenting data and facts in a way that meets public needs. Many public health institutions now aim to prepare data for professional audiences. This requires identifying available data, determining how it can be linked, and deriving meaningful indicators suitable for presentation and further processing. This involves expertise in computer science, epidemiology, and data science. Our staff work with you to assess existing standardized data, explore presentation options, and identify potential indicators derived from data integration. You will gain an overview of data that can be used, for example, to start interactive online presentations with minimal investment.

- Target group: public health institutions
- Cost: none

Prototypes for online healthcare reports
This service builds on the “Identification of suitable indicators.” We offer the possibility to present the previously defined data in suitable online applications hosted on OFFIS infrastructure for visualization and data analysis purposes. No own infrastructure is required. If desired and permitted, historical data (e.g., from the past two years) can be provided, integrated, processed for analysis, and presented by our team. If no own data is available, test data is used. Through iterative discussions, the direction for a concrete implementation within the institution is determined.
