At first glance, agriculture and the maritime industry may seem to have little in common. However, a closer look reveals that many of the challenges facing these sectors are strikingly similar. One such challenge is the decarbonization of fleets, which will become a central issue in the coming years. Due to the often similar engine types in smaller work and coastal vessels as well as in agricultural machinery, there is significant synergy potential here. At the same time, the adequate and cost-effective supply of green fuels, such as HVO or methanol, for these machines presents a major challenge.

A closer collaboration between agriculture and the maritime industry could be the key to establishing a widespread decentralized supply network.

The Agrotech Valley Forum and the Maritime Cluster Northern Germany invite you to discuss these and other potential shared topics.
